Dispatch v1.0 Released.... finally.

So I won't start this post off like it's another blurb in someone's high school yearbook. About how the last 8 months have been crazy and cool at the same time, or about how funny it was when we totally streaked though the quad.

Dispatch v1.0 with Remote View Overlay enabledBut I did want to let ya'll know as of Tues morning, Yellow Cup released v1.0 of Dispatch - a plugin for Visual Studio 2005 designed for ASP.net developers. Dispatch eases that burden of FTP deployment and allows you to focus on development. This has been my main priority over the last 8 months. Trying to start a new company (alongside a FT job), developing Dispatch and managing the beta program all at the same time can make for some late nights, early mornings and LOTS of coffee and redbull.

<beginHistory>
Dispatch first started out as a WinForms app, called Web Deployer. It was first written for Visual Studio 2003 back in 2004. I used this tool so much, I decided to post it for others to use. I was asked to develop a VB version, and soon a VS 2005 version. The 2005 version worked great but I knew that integration into VS would set it apart from some other moderate tools out there. Thus, Dispatch was born.
</endHistory>

If you aren't familiar with Dispatch, head over to the site to check it out. If you currently use an FTP client to deploy your FTP sites, have a look - you could be on the verge of saving some serious deployment time.

Along with the release of Dispatch, I tried to revamp the site a bit and give it a more professional theme. Since I suck balls at design, this was an icy road to walk. Hopefully, people will be so utterly engrossed with Dispatch, they won't notice or care. The site also now includes a secure purchase area, taking all major credit cards and PayPal (sorry, there is no I.O.U. payment method). Licenses are generated at transaction time, so there's no waiting once you buy.

Dispatch is also offered as a 30-day trial to anyone wanting to give it a shot. You'll probably know within 10 minutes of using it whether it's a good fit for your development environment. For lots of screenshots, check out the Help section.

Last but not least, if you are of the mindset that Dispatch is teh r0x0r, be kind and kick down a digg and help me get this app some exposure.

K.I.T. - have a bitchin' summer.

Looks interesting. At home works a treat. However at work would it be possible to include "network drives" rather than just ftp?
