Property Manager Updated 1.0.0.4
posted on Wednesday, June 20, 2007 by bobby @ 2:19 pm
This is a small, but somewhat useful update. While I've never been one to prefix my local variables w/ the infamous "m_", I know many-a-dev that do. Thus, this update now supports this as well as a few other minor changes.

NOTE - if you are upgrading from a previous version, uninstall the old version before installing this new version.

Super! Thanks for this feature!

So is there any chance that you would want to add another feature? I love this add-in with one exception. After I paste the properties I always have to go hit enter before every "get" and then do a Ctrl + K, Ctrl + D to format the property according to my visual studio settings. It would be really nice if I didn't have to do that, it gets really redundant.

I also wouldn't mind contributing to this project if you ever decided to open it up on codeplex or something.

You shouldn't have to do that. When you paste, Visual Studio should auto-format it for you based on your formatting settings.

Hi!
I can't get the PropertyManager (v1.0.0.4) to work with VS2008 RTM!!!

That is because it is not VS2008 compatible yet.

do you plan to release a VS2008 compatibility version? If so, when?

Indeed. Testing it now.

Native Visual Studio feature "Refactor -> Encapsulate Field" is not same thing? In what advantage of this tool?

This tool can be used to generate multiple properties at the same time...a lot easier than Encapsulate Field on every one.

I just posted an entry with a Version for VB.Net Code. Let me know what you think.

it'd be nice if you could have an option to add "[System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThrough]" into each property - i hate having to step into properties, when i'm debugging something.
ex:
public Guid Link_Guid
{
[System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThrough]
get { return m_Link_Guid; }
set { m_Link_Guid = value; }
}

Can you post the source code for this? I like to make a modification... Thanks! (Great Tool btw)

This is almost exactly what I need but I can't find the regex string mentioned in an earlier post. Is that compiled into the app? I too have to hit enter before each "get" and then CTRL+K then CTRL+D. I'm running VS2005 Team Edition. THANKS!

Hey,

Fantastic tool, but doesn't work with VB.NET? I realize that you are mostly using C# but is there any chance of a VB version?

Thanks,
